The houses
Each birth chart has twelve sectors which represent different areas of a person’s life. Below is a brief explanation of the houses.
The 1st house
Depicts a person’s appearance, individual personality, temperament, physical attributes, style, quirks, and attitude.
The 2nd house
Depicts values, self-worth, earned income, and material possessions.
The 3rd house
Represents communication, siblings, relationship with our communities, short journeys, news, memory, speech, and rumors.
The 4th house
Represents childhood, youth, the relationship with our family and the home, the core self, the nurturing parent, roots, and origins.
The 5th house
Represents love, children, creativity, dating life, fun, sexuality, creative expression, and dramatics.
The 6th house
Represents work, routines, behavior towards subordinates, health, hygiene, fitness, pets, service, and self-expression.
The 7th house
Represents marriage, partnerships, open enemies, contractors, agreements, negotiations, lawsuits, and conflicts.
The 8th house
Rules death, taxes, rebirth, inheritance, rituals, severing of ties, growth, evolution, loss, and metaphysics.
The 9th house
Rules travel (literal or travel of the mind), higher learning, philosophy, the field of law, spirituality, and foreign countries.
The 10th house
Rules status, public eye, reputation, authority figures, the dominant parent, honors and achievement, and social image.
The 11th house
Represents friends, people, groups, social circles, acquaintances, and hopes & wishes.
The 12th house
Represents hospitals, prisons, confinement, dreams, subconscious, retreats, secrets, repression, the hidden, unseen realms, betrayal, and karma. Those born with planets here are often intuitive and psychic.
